The Pimlico applications are featured in Sato, our handheld user interface built on top of Poky. They can be easily ported to new GNOME Mobile based application frameworks and customised to a particular user interface.
One of our areas of focus is leveraging proven and popular desktop technologies to embedded platforms. This provides a widely tested and maintained base which we can use to build optimised systems. Evolution data server (EDS) is an open source backend datastore for PIM data developed by Novell and the GNOME community and used in the GNOME desktop. It provides rich address book and calendar functionality supporting various standards and protocols including LDAP, VCARDS, and iCal.
We have worked extensively on reducing the footprint of EDS to make it suitable for low end platforms providing a comprehensive PIM backend. This work provided the basis for the address book backend we developed for the maemo™ platform and used on the Nokia internet tablets. The Pimilico suite is also used the the OpenMoko® platform.
